The Asian science of Feng Shui

"The true value of a fine dwelling is judged best by the happiness of its occupants."

Martina Berchtold, 2008

The term Feng Shui translates as ´wind and water´. Just as a stream naturally winds its way through a valley following the path of least resistance, Feng Shui rebalances your environment and maintains a harmonic flow of life. Feng Shui is an empirical science, originating from Asia, which is many thousands of years old and is based on the observation of nature and human well-being. Because Chinese characters have remained unchanged to this day, knowledge of feng shui principles - evidence observed from the theories – and experience in prioritising these principles are the greatest treasure we have today regarding the location and design of our dwelling space.

With the aid of certain principles, feng shui considers all aspects of our personal environment that exert influence over our sub-conscious. Amongst these principles are the harmonious flow of the life energy Qi, the Lehnstuhl principle, balance of yin & yang, bagua and the five elements theory. The interplay between humans and their environment has also regularly been the topic of discussions in Europe.

“There are three important things regarding a building: it needs to be in the right place, well founded and completed to perfection. “ (Johann W. von Goethe)

“Initially we shape our buildings and then, thereafter, they shape us.” (Sir Winston L. Spencer-Churchill)

In Feng Shui, YOU take the center stage. The more freedom you have in shaping and designing your home, the more efficiently an ideal situation can be achieved. Under optimal conditions, Feng Shui consulting starts with the choice of a suitable property, continues with an involvement during building and garden design and finally includes the decoration of all rooms, matching your wishes and objectives.
